52" Marston Pterodactyl - Rev. D October 2008
twin engine, aileron, elevator, rudder and throttle
complete laser cut kit includes plans and 2 carbon spars
Design Notes:
The 52" span Marston Pterodactyl is the fifth evolution of the twin electric Pterodactyl, and the most advanced, benefiting from years of prior design heritage. It is the product of countless hours of research, brainstorming and building. Unlike the 80" model, this kit can be built in a few weeks and includes everything except covering material, hardware, and electronics. All wood required is included as well as two full length carbon spars and full size rolled plans. One-piece wing attaches to body with two nylon screws. Same beautiful organic lines as the 80" Pterodactyl, but considerably more complete and less complicated to build.
Intermediate/advanced building skills are recommended.
Requires two small outrunner brushless motors (Axi/Atlas 2208 or equal), one 25A or two 10A controllers, four mini servos and a 2000 mah 3s Li-poly.
Wingspan 52 1/8”
Length 31”
wing area 330 square inches - 2.29 square feet
weight RTF 23-26 oz.
wing loading 10.8 oz/square foot
