Marston PteroWorks design philosophy centers on creating unique looking, structurally sound aircraft that exhibit very good flight characteristics. Meeting all three of these goals is an artistic and engineering challenge.
Designing and building with wood creates a unique look. Foam planes are fun and easy and repairable and disposable. Wood is in a different class. It has an amazing natural strength and inherent beauty. Very few man made creations can rival the strength to weight ratio of humble Balsa wood, and none can match its organic beauty and soul. Nothing is as elegant and structurally beautiful as a well designed wood airframe.
PteroWorks is the creation of an RC enthusiast with a lifelong fascination of mechanics, engineering, design and flight (and ice cream).

The kits available from PteroWorks range in complexity from very simple to very complex and can be finished in half a day or upwards of a year.
CNC Laser Cutting
CNC laser cutting of all wood kits is done in-house. Please inquire if you have any custom short run laser cutting needs. Most wood and plastics up to 1/4" thick can be cut and etched, size: 12" x 24" maximum.
